Prospera’s journey to becoming the regional leader for business and community development began in 1985.

Over the decades, we have supported the community by providing unparalleled resources to help businesses of all sizes and in all stages of development succeed. We believe that a strong and diverse economy supports a healthy and vibrant community, and by providing resources and support for people who are starting and growing their businesses in Montana, we keep our connection to this beautiful place we all call home. Our team at Prospera has continually expanded the services we provide by developing and adding the most effective and up-to-date opportunities for business leaders, including grant and loan assistance, no-cost business counseling, professional trainings, and networking opportunities.

In 2010, Prospera became the official home of the Montana Women’s Business Center (MTWBC), a program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and in 2019, we were honored to receive the national award for our MTWBC.

In 2019, we added the Food and Agriculture Development Center (FADC), which provides further support for commercialized food, agriculture, and renewable energy. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) became part of our team in 2021 to add even more support for growing local businesses in Montana. The addition of these programs has allowed us to increase the services we offer by expanding opportunities for more individualized and specialized services for our local business colleagues.
