Greater Gallatin Contractors - Prospera

Greater Gallatin Contractors

Greater Gallatin Contractors has been a go-to in the Gallatin Valley for landscape and irrigation installation and
maintenance for over a decade. If you’ve visited a playground, park or walked the trails through a local neighborhood, you’ve probably seen their work.

Recently, it became clear to owner Mark Haarer that he had to invest in some new equipment to take his business to the next level. After pursuing options with a bank, Mark was recommended to Prospera by a lender who believed the non-profit offered a better option for a short-term funding solution.

With the help of the Montana Women’s Business Center they received business counseling including preparation help for Greater Gallatin Contractors to receive a loan with Prospera to purchase new equipment, including front-end loaders and skid steers. The addition of this equipment meant new doors opened for the business – they were able to bid on different types of jobs and it allowed them to be more efficient and economical when competing for those bigger jobs.

Mark was impressed with his experience with Prospera. He didn’t just get financial support; he also received guidance and education when planning for this next stage of his business. More than a bank, it was a partnership forged with a reputable, easy-to-work-with organization.

Mark’s advice for anyone thinking of staring a business: have a plan. A good plan helps you make decisions and set your goals. Then, he says, stick with that plan. Stay the course and keep at it.
