Community Development - Prospera

Prospera partners with businesses, organizations, cities, and rural communities to address local needs and navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing economy. Serving as connectors and problem-solvers, we engage with communities dealing with issues such as downtown revitalization, housing, child-care, and other essential infrastructure for economic success. This work is both opportunistic and long-term, as we respond to provide support by identifying funding and expertise to help communities address critical needs.

Site Plans and Placemaking
  • Prospera is working with the Town of Manhattan, to plan for a new community center to support this growing rural community.
Community Needs and Infrastructure
  • Prospera provided a critical bridge loan to Yellowstone Fiber, which resulted in them securing a $65 million industrial revenue bond, that brought fiber to every home and business in Bozeman.
  • Prospera provided funding to support a new site plan for the MSU Innovation Campus, which will ultimately allow the campus to support more new businesses and jobs.
Housing and Childcare
  • Prospera is supporting the Greater Gallatin United Way with the Child Connect program connecting families and businesses to available licensed child care facilities in Gallatin and Park Counties.
  • Prospera has a loan fund program specific for affordable housing opportunities.
  • Prospera recently funded a new childcare facility in Bozeman.
  • Prospera helped the property owner of an abandoned grain elevator redesign the site for future development, which resulted in new housing. (2018)
  • Prospera made its largest Community Impact loan ever, to help close a $5M package for a new resident owned community in Belgrade, preserving housing for 36 families.
Redevelopment and Reuse
  • Prospera supported the Bozeman School District Construction Program.
  • Prospera helped the City of Livingston with an engineering report that resulted in them reconstructing 3 blocks of their downtown streets and infrastructure. (2015-2017)
